The Exe Valley is a relatively unspoilt area of the Devon countryside. The River Exe rises on Exmoor at a height of 1450 feet and within only 5 miles of the Bristol Channel – however it chooses to wind its way southwards over an ever changing route of 60 miles, to reach the sea on the south coast of Devon at Exmouth.
From the fast flowing head-waters and steeply wooded valleys of Exmoor, to the more gently meandering waters leading down to the coast, the Exe Valley offers an immense variety of flora and fauna as it flows through peaceful villages, busy market towns and the cathedral city of Exeter. We hope to give you a taste of this variety today.
