Saturday - To the National Memorial Arboretum near Lichfield - we shall arrive in time for the 11:00 Daily Act of Remembrance which includes a 2 minute silence. Later we shall board the Land Train for a guided tour of the site with commentary. Afterwards there will be free time for personal visits. To finish the day we call into Barton Marina - a unique waterside setting with narrowboat moorings, shops, galleries and cafes. Return to the hotel later that afternoon.
Sunday - A market town with over 800 years of history - Stratford on Avon still contains historic sights that would have been familiar to Shakespeare himself. Bancroft Gardens on the riverside are usually full of spring flowers and are adjacent to the Canal Basin from where frequent river trips depart. The town is easily explored on foot and self-guided walking tours lead you to discover ancient buildings that record the history of the town.
