Leeds and York can not be surpassed for their Christmas celebrations and offer a whole host of festive attractions including outdoor ice rinks, funfairs, artisan craft stalls, festive food and drink and much more! Combine this with a spectacular Christmas Lunch Show – a true winter wonderland, a jamboree of carols, dancing, yuletide mirth and a medley of merriment. Its’ a spirited celebration of the festive season featuring a delightful mix of timeless classics and beloved all-time hits!
ITINERARY
Monday - Morning departure from Dorset with stops as appropriate for refreshment to arrive in Leeds late afternoon. After settling in enjoy a 3 course buffet dinner with choice of menu (included)
Tuesday - A full day to YORK - transformed into a festive wonderland of stalls, decorations and lights. There is music, magic and Christmas aromas all around. Countless themed events take place throughout the city including a Yuletide Village at the Guildhall, Ye Olde Christmas at the Barley Hall, A Victorian Christmas at York Castle and Christmas Cruises on the River Ouse to name but a few. Don't miss the magnificent Minster and historically renowned Shambles with its food court. You could choose to join a guided walking tour of the twinkling city or simply wander the narrow cobbled streets discovering unique shopping opportunities. York is also know as "Chocolate City" - you'll see why! Leave York late that afternoon for buffet evening dinner (included) at our hotel in Leeds.
Wednesday - The morning is free to explore Leeds' own Christmas Christmas markets staged just 10 mins walk from the hotel. There is a vintage Carousel, Wheel of Light, plenty of craft and food outlets. The whole city is bedecked in light and decorations. At 11:30 make our way by coach to the nearby village of Yeadon, where the Yorkshire Christmas Spectacular Show is staged in the stunning restored Town Hall Theatre. Built in 1880 and restored in 2019 it is a unique Victorian themed dining theatre. You will enjoy a 3 course traditional Christmas Lunch accompanied by sensational and brilliant Christmas Entertainment - a full 4 hour event (start 12:15pm - finish 4pm). Return to Leeds where the Christmas Market festivities continue into the evening and are the perfect place to source your own dinner (not included). Take your pick from stalls, takeaways, pubs, restaurants or dine at the hotel (meal not included tonight) - you will be spoilt for choice!
Thursday - Homewards bound to arrive Dorset early evening.
The Met Hotel, LEEDS – A much loved landmark in the Leeds cityscape, this 4 star hotel blends traditional design with contemporary interiors to create a luxury venue offering the expected standards for todays travellers. Bedrooms are spacious and tastefully decorated and provide private bathroom with free toiletries, hairdryer, television, phone, tea tray, safe, iron/board and free Wifi. The Tempus Restaurant combines 18th century charm with modern décor and serves British based menus with a little indulgence. The bar is open all day offering a comfortable place to socialise. There is a gym, a lift and room service is available.
