In 1977 against a background of steam engines, mechanical organs and fairground rides, a small Christmas show took place with eight choir scholars from Kings College Cambridge singing carols it has now grown into the largest Christmas show in England! The show creates a magical Christmas of yester-year a time of love, hope and giving. The one element that encapsulates the spirit of Christmas more than any other is music and this show is truly the ultimate Christmas musical experience. Combined with dazzling dancers, beautiful costumes and singing from a cast of over 100 this show would not be out of place in any of Londons west end theatres!
ITINERARY
Sunday - Morning departure from Dorset to St Albans for lunch - an historic city boasting a magnificent cathedral. Resume that afternoon, across country to Norwich and after settling in enjoy a 3 course dinner with choices.
Monday - Coach transfer into Norwich city centre. Explore the maze of narrow cobbled streets around the Cathedral area or visit the Castle which dates back to the Normans. We then make the 45 minute drive to Thursford arriving in time to visit the optional extra "Enchanted Journey of Light" or to browse the Christmas themed shops. Take your seats for a matinee* performance of the famous Thursford Christmas Spectacular (start 14:00 - end 17:00) - the biggest and best Christmas Show in England - it has to be seen to be believed - set within the grounds of the famous Thursford Steam Museum. Return to hotel for dinner.
Tuesday - This morning join a boat cruise on the Norfolk Broads - a magical trip with mulled wine and a mince pie with the opportunity to enjoy scenic views and wildlife from the top-deck accompanied by an amusing commentary. Return to Norwich in time for lunch with more time this afternoon to explore this fascinating and historic city.
Wednesday - Homeward bound with a stop for sightseeing and lunch in "Royal" Windsor. Return to Dorset by early evening.
