The Royal Mint Experience, based at Llantrisant, is Wales' newest attraction that will give visitors unprecedented access to the inner workings of a 1000-year-old organisation at the home of official UK coin production. The £9m interactive visitor centre showcases the fascinating history and manufacture of the coins we use every day. You can expect to see a state-of-the-art attraction where you will learn all about where the coins in your pocket come from, how they were made, and the fascinating history of coinage in the UK through a series of interactive exhibitions and films. A guide will show you the actual coin making factory and you will see new coins being produced - sorry no free samples!
You'll also learn about the military and sporting medals that are produced and hear the stirring stories behind some of most iconic medals including anecdotes from wartime Spitfire pilots and Dambusters.

Arrive The Royal Mint (near Cardiff) 13:00 - time for lunch in the cafe, or bring a picnic.
Guided tour commences at 14:15 and takes just over 1 hour
There will be time to view the exhibition, museum and gift shop.
