Attention all soap fans! Come and join us as we explore the most popular UK soap operas and see exactly where the drama takes place. Get ready to step into the thrilling world of Coronation Street – wander through the iconic film sets, step behind the cameras and discover the hidden secrets - immerse yourself in the familiar surroundings of the nation’s most famous city street. The following day take in a unique show at VIVA Blackpool – “Soapstar Sundays” is a 4 hour performance hosted by Hayley Tamaddon (Del Dingle in Emmerdale and Andrea Beckett in Coronation St) – the show features interviews with Soapstar guests, songs and music, A Sunday afternoon tea, audience questions, photo opportunity and souvenir photo.
ITINERARY
Friday - From Dorset this morning via motorways with stops as appropriate to arrive at Mercure Haydock late afternoon. A welcome cuppa while the bags are portered, then after settling in enjoy dinner.
Saturday - We head for the ITV Coronation Street Experience in Manchester. There is more to the cobbles than ever before - spot the streets recognisable locations and experience the famous northern cheer! Explore the iconic outdoor set, props, costumes and more. We have access to the Coronation Street Exhibition which includes replicas of Roy's Rolls and The Rovers, complete with a gift shop and café. This afternoon there is time in Manchester city centre with its history in science, politics, music, art and sport - and the associated museums and exhibitions to match - a city that delivers surprises and delight in equal measure.
Sunday - This morning drive to Blackpool with time to explore the sights, its weatherproof attractions, shops, piers, colourful trams and good old northern hospitality. At 1pm we are welcomed to VIVA, Blackpool's No1 show and dining venue. We shall enjoy a traditional afternoon tea while the new "Super Soap Stars" show takes place on stage. Hosted by Hayley Tamaddon (Del in Emmerdale) she will interview soapstar guests such as Jack P Shepperd, Alison Hammond, Danny Miller, Lucy Fallon, Bruce Jones etc. There will be music and song, your chance to ask questions, photos and more. In all a 4 hour experience that should end around 5pm. Return to hotel at Haydock.
Monday - Homewards bound with breaks for refreshment en-route to arrive back in Dorset late that afternoon.

Mercure Haydock Hotel
A 4 star luxury hotel set in a Georgian mansion style building surrounded by landscaped gardens. All of the bright and modern bedrooms provide private bathroom with free toiletries, hairdryer, television, phone, free wifi, safe, iron and tea tray. Beechers Restaurant serves a wide variety of delicious dishes in elegant surroundings, accompanied by an extensive wine list. The Haydock Lounge is a relaxing bar in which to socialise. There are extensive leisure and spa facilities available for guests use, including a large indoor heated pool, jacuzzi, sauna and gym. No lift but rooms are only on ground and first floor.
