Today you can explore the original 15th century west wing of the Castle and its fascinating exhibition rooms, before entering the east wing which is home to a number of beautiful rooms, still used by the family today.
Sudeley's exhibition rooms highlight key moments of the Castles history from Richard III, to the Tudors, its civil war slighting on to orders of Cromwell to its Victorian revival . Through a remarkable collection of priceless objects and curiosities, the history of Sudeley Castle and its owners can be discovered in the 15th Century west wing.
Set against the stunning backdrop of the majestic castle, and surrounded by striking views of the Cotswold Hills, 10 magnificent, award-winning gardens sweep around the castle, awaiting your discovery.
The story of Sudeley's gardens began in the 15th century when Ralph Boteler built the castle. In those days, garden plants were useful rather than decorative: fennel, garlic, mint, sage and thyme were grown to flavour food; chamomile, lavender were harvested to scent rooms; and herbs were used to make medicines.
Children love scaling Sudeley's impressive wooden play fort and whizzing on the zip wire in our Adventure Playground, as well as tackling a 10-piece assault course. Inside the castle, your child's love of history will be sparked by exhibitions, films, stories and curious objects from the past. Take children on a digital detox in Sudeley's beautiful grounds and gardens.
