This is a very special holiday to Scotland to enjoy the best Christmas Markets in the country combined with a festively themed programme of excursions. Tumble into a magical Winter Wonderland in the fairytale Scottish cities with an explosion of twinkling lights, enchanting sounds, mouth-watering flavours and lots of festive fun. Our chosen hotel base is no less special a comfortable venue that provides a delicious cream tea and drinks vouchers for the bar each evening! Add to that a festively themed boat cruise with mulled wine and mince pies.
ITINERARY
Monday - Early morning start from Dorset via motorways with comfort breaks as appropriate to arrive Stirling early evening. Porterage of bags - Dinner - Vouchers for the bar.
Tuesday - Edinburgh Christmas Market - Today we head to Scotland's capital city to explore the sights and enjoy shopping in its fabulous Christmas Market. Return to hotel late afternoon for a cream tea. Dinner in the restaurant - Drinks vouchers for the bar.
Wednesday - This morning travel to Queensferry where we shall board a Festive Three Bridges Cruise complete with mince pies and mulled wine. Enjoy sights of the magnificent Forth road and rail bridges, Inchcolm Island and the medieval abbey, watch out for the wildlife. Later stop at the historic village of Culross and take time to wander its cobbled alleyways and admire the historic buildings. Finally call into The Kelpies - the world's largest equine statues at 30 metres tall, often illuminated in the evening. Dinner and drinks vouchers.
Thursday - Drive to Glasgow to enjoy the festive atmosphere of the excellent Christmas market which offers festive stalls, rides, ice skating and family entertainment. Back at the hotel this evening we enjoy dinner followed by more drinks vouchers.
Friday - A farewell before departure from the hotel - heading homewards with comfort breaks as required, to return to Dorset late that evening.

KING ROBERT HOTEL, STIRLING
A modern comfortable 3 star hotel uniquely situated on the site of the Battle of Bannockburn and right next door to the exhibition dedicated to it. All of the 52 bedrooms have private bathroom with walk-in shower, toiletries, hairdryer, tv with movie channel, large comfy beds, tea tray and free wifi. The Bistro Restaurant provides a 3 course dinner using fresh local ingredients and a glass of wine. A generous breakfast is provided in the Garden Suite restaurant. There is a bar lounge area in which to relax and socialise - 3 drinks vouchers for wine, beer, house spirits or soft drinks are included each evening. No lift but only two floors and plenty of ground floor bedrooms.
