A charming zoo with a pasion for conservation, housing over 150 species from accross the world
Today over 45,000+ people visit Exmoor Zoo annually, enjoying the friendly relaxed and natural atmosphere. Over 14 staff, a curator and education team all endeavour to instil the importance of looking after the environment and respect for the habitat of native and exotic animals.
There are now over 35 breeding programs to maintain the captive population of endangered species. This breeding and encouraging respect for the animals is now a very important part of our work.
Animals Include Black Leopard, Cheetah, Meercat, African Wild Dog, Howler Monkey, Lemur, Armadillo and many more!
The African Café & conservatory Tea rooms seat approximately 130 people. The seating is conveniently located at the entrance and exit to the zoo.
Take away food and drinks are available and an outside open-air patio (which offers cool summer shade under grape vines and wisteria) is nearby that can seat another 30 people around circular picnic benches.
