From the top of our most dramatic National Park to the ocean shores, discovering wonderful treasures in between.

One of the most ancient and hauntingly beautiful areas in Europe. Called Eryri in Welsh (“the place of eagles”), Snowdonia welcomes visitors to a breath-taking natural environment where mountains meet the sea. People have lived, worked and thrived in this unique Celtic principality for more than 5000 years - their legacy is a land which will fascinate the visitor with its rich opportunities for sightseeing, culture and discovery. Scenically Snowdonia must be the most dramatic of our National Parks and this newly organised holiday takes you from the “top of the world” to the ocean shores and discovers treasures in between.

ITINERARY

Monday - Morning departure from Dorset to Cheltenham for lunch. Continue to Llanberis where dinner awaits.

Tuesday - To the Royal town of Caernarfon with the commanding presence of Wales' most famous castle. Enjoy the old town as well as the newly rejuvenated marina area with its views over the Menai Strait. We shall cross the Pont Britannia Bridge on to Angelsey this afternoon and spend time in Beaumaris, a captivating seaside town. Stroll the seafront and take in the pier and charming cottages before reaching the iconic concentric medieval castle.

Wednesday - Maybe the highlight of your holiday - today we shall join the famous rack railway from Llanberis up to the very summit of Mount Snowdon. A remarkable journey that has been described as one of the most scenic railway journeys in the World. It has carried over 12 million travellers since 1896. On arrival at the summit one of the world's greatest panoramas is revealed and you can embrace the invigorating atmosphere of The Land of the Eagles. Before/after your summit journey there will be opportunity to explore more of Llanberis which offers a lakeside walk, slate museum, country park, castle, craft shops.

Thursday - Llandudno is Wales largest holiday resort but its scale is still intimate and friendly. A Victorian architectural gem that has remained unspoilt and locked in time. Its sweeping sandy bay neatly fills the gap between Little and Great Ormes, the latter at 679 feet high is accessible by vintage tramway. This afternoon drive to Bodnant Garden - it's idyllic situation above the River Conwy provides breath-taking views of the Snowdon range. Forged by a Victorian visionary - it is full of exotic blooms, grand flower filled terraces, shrub filled glades, water gardens and towering trees.

Friday - Homeward bound with stops as appropriate to arrive back in Dorset late afternoon.
