ITINERARY
SUNDAY - Morning departure from Dorset northwards to Preston area for overnight stay in 3 star hotel with dinner and breakfast.
MONDAY - Drive along the Solway Coast to Cairnryan. Join the afternoon ferry (2 hrs) to Belfast and make the short drive to our hotel at Stormont where dinner awaits.
TUESDAY - We shall visit the extraordinary Giant's Causeway, a UNESCO Heritage Site. It has inspired artists, stirred scientific debate and captured the imagination of all who see it. The mystery and stories are explained in the award winning visitor centre. After lunch make a spectacular drive along the Antrim coast, widely regarded as one of the finest marine drives in Europe: Ballycastle - Glenariff - Glenarm - Ballygally - Carrickfergus.
WEDNESDAY - A morning 2½ hour coach sightseeing tour of Belfast in the hands of a local and enthusiastic guide. Discover the famous landmarks and intriguing history and heritage of the city. This afternoon visit the Titanic Visitor Centre, a new state of the art exhibition on the site of the famous liner's original creation.
THURSDAY - Touring through verdant Irish countryside, to the south of Loch Neagh, to Omagh and visit the Ulster American Folk Park which illustrates the story of thousands of people who emigrated to the USA during the 18th & 19th centuries. Our return takes us north of Loch Neagh via Antrim back to Belfast.
FRIDAY - We head southbound and cross the border into Eire, passing through Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty - via Newry - to Dublin, capital of The Republic. There will be time for sightseeing in the city centre this afternoon. Stay overnight at a 3 or 4 star hotel just outside the city.
SATURDAY - An early departure from hotel to board the Stena Line ferry sailing at 08:15 from Dublin. Breakfast included onboard. Arrive Holyhead 12noon and drive back to Dorset by late evening.
