East and West looe are joined by an impressive arched bridge across the tidal river. The popular seaside town keeps visitors entertained all year round, while retaining a traditional working fishing port. The town prides itself on its fresh fish - from gourmet restaurants to take away fish and chips. Looe's golden sand beach shelves gently into the sea and provides safe swimming and is a regular sun trap. The town museum provides bygones of the towns old smuggling days, its railway heritage and some wonderful boat models all housed in the old town hall and jail. Boat trips run to Looe Island, a nature reserve and home to resident grey seals.
