So very much enjoyed in the past, we really had to revisit Eastbourne for Tinsel and Turkey. Get into the mood for the coming festive season with this great value mock Christmas break. Set in stylish and elegant Eastbourne which offers a wealth of attractions – the surrounding countryside and stunning coastal scenery are a unique and unspoilt beauty.
ITINERARY
MONDAY- Morning departure to Chichester for sightseeing and lunch. Continue to Eastbourne with tea and biscuits on arrival. After settling in enjoy a "Christmas Eve" 3 course dinner followed by a quiz or bingo in the lounge.
TUESDAY - Morning to Hastings - the old part of the town which leads down to the harbour is a warren of narrow streets, timbered houses and red-tiled cottages. Back in the hotel "It's Christmas Day!" - Afternoon tea with Christmas Cake is served. Later this evening enjoy a traditional Christmas Dinner with all the trimmings. There is a visit from Santa himself who has a gift for everyone, followed by music and dancing into the night.
WEDNESDAY - Morning visit to the beautiful county town of Lewes, a mixture of the unusual and intriguing yet typically Sussex. Medieval streets and cobbled alleyways house art galleries, craft shops, book shops, antiques and cafes. A delightful place to explore and so full of history. In the hotel this afternoon "It's Boxing Day" with afternoon tea and mince pies. Later another delicious 3 course dinner is followed by music, dancing, fun and laughter.
THURSDAY - A chance to enjoy the resort. Eastbourne is easy on the eye, an elegant and handsome seafront outlooks to wide open skies and ocean views. A stroll along the iconic Victorian pier is a top attraction - there are also galleries, museums, walking trails, quirky shops - all manner of distractions to enjoy.
FRIDAY - Time to say farewell after a break overflowing with good food, good company and happy memories. A stop at Portsmouth's Gunwharf Quay on our way homeward, with time for some Christmas shopping and lunch. Return to Dorset that afternoon.

YORK HOUSE HOTEL, EASTBOURNE
An elegant 3 star Victorian hotel located on the seafront close to the pier and just a 15 minute stroll from the town centre. All 80 bedrooms are individually decorated and furnished and offer private bathroom with toiletries, hairdryer, television, phone, desk, tea tray, wifi and are accessible by lift. The elegant Verandah Restaurant serves traditional style dishes using local ingredients where possible and for this stay there is a festive theme. The Verandah Bar next door is the ideal setting to relax, unwind and enjoy a drink while taking in the sea panorama. This is one of very few hotels in Eastbourne that offers a heated indoor pool.
NB: Although the hotel does have a lift operating to all floors, the hotel does have some half-landings meaning you might encounter about 5 steps to access certain rooms.
