The Christmas Train of Lights on the Dartmouth Steam Railway is a truly spectacular illuminated journey - starting at Paignton, where the vintage carriages await you, decorated with thousands of twinkling lights. Once you've settled in your seat you will depart Paignton and steam to Churston station where the dazzling show begins. As the anticipation builds and mere moments after leaving Churston you will be propelled through the 450 metre long technicolour Greenway tunnel that then leads through the enchanted forest which is transformed by a multitude of lights and feature displays. The breath-taking show ends as you leave the forest to be greeted by the twinkling lights of Kingswear and Dartmouth which are reflected on the waters of the River Dart. After a quick engine turn-around you will be on your way back to Paignton to experience the spectacle from the other direction. We strongly recommend early booking.

Depart from : Chickerell 10:30 - Portland 11:00 - Weymouth 11:30 - Dorchester 12:00 noon - Bridport 12:30
Arrive at Paignton, Victoria coach park, Garfield Road by 14:00
The coach park just a few minutes walk from the station and convenient for the seafront, shops, cafes, pubs etc. There will be some free-time for lunch and sightseeing.
Assemble at the Queen's Park Sation (Dartmouth Steam Railway) at 16:15 - meet Bluebird driver who will have your tickets.
Board the Train of Lights which departs at 17:00 on a magical illuminated nocturnal journey to Kingswear and back. Train returns to Paignton by 18:15.
A short walk back to the coach at Victoria car park (4 mins) - coach will leave Paignton at 18:40 approx.
Stop at Exeter Services for tea - 30 mins.
Return to Bridport 20:30 - Dorchester 21:00 - Weymouth 21:30 - Portland 22:00 - Chickerell 22:20.
