Britains biggest indoor military tattoo faeturing pipes and drums, marching bands, field gun racing, dog agility and over 1,000 performers.
The Birmingham International Tattoo is Britain's biggest indoor tattoo (a type of military tournament) featuring marching bands, pipes & drums, field gun racing, dog racing and much more including a spectacular Grand Finale with over 1,000 performers. Held in the prestigious Resorts World Arena at the NEC, it is completely under cover and not subject to the ravages of weather. The performances help raise funds for services charities who work to assist veterans and those serving in our Armed Forces. We have been fortunate in securing a group allocation of tickets for one of only two performances planned for 2025.
ITINERARY
Saturday - Mid-morning departure from Dorset via motorways to arrive at Birmingham NEC by 4pm. There are multiple food and drink outlets where you can source a meal (including gluten free and vegan) before taking your seats for the International Tattoo which starts at 6pm. The performance lasts for over 3 hours an includes an intermission half way through. Military bands from across Europe perform separately, then come together for a spectacular massed finale. There are amazing Field Gun displays, dog agility races, a parade of massed Standards and solo singers - a stunning piece of theatre, pomp and pageantry! The show ends at 9:30pm and we make the short drive to our overnight hotel with a late check-in arranged.
Sunday - We have agreed a late breakfast and will leave the hotel at 10:30am. Drive across the Cotswold Hills to the elegant city of Bath, with time for lunch and sightseeing. A city full of heritage, culture, green spaces and a few surprises, its centre is compact and easy to walk around. Leave Bath at 3pm to drive back to Dorset by late afternoon.
