The museum tells the story of Britain's most famous fighter station, in particular its role during the Second World War - "Inspiring generations, Remembering the Few and Honouring the Many."

Admission to the BHMM includes entry to the exhibition which explores the unique history of RAF Biggin Hill through a collection of exceptional objects and stories. The galleries trace the former RAF fighter station from 1916 to the end of the Second World War, with particular focus on the significant role it played during the Battle of Britain.  Visits are self guided and enhanced by the use of a Discovery Tablet throughout the exhibitions, Chapel and gardens. St George's RAF Chapel of rememberance was built as a memorial to the aircrew who lost their lives - built in 1951 after a fundraising campaign led by Sir Winston Churchill. It features a reredos and book of remembrance and 12 stained glass windows designed by Sir Hugh Easton. The tranquil rose gardens contain the ashes of RAF personnel and are guarded by a Spitfire and Hurricane flow by pilots based at Biggin Hill. We shall be welcomed by a staff member who will give an introduction to the site - there is a cafe or you can bring a picnic.
