200 acres of garden history, mystery and romance

Twenty-five years ago, Heligan’s historic gardens were unknown and unseen; lost under a tangle of weeds. It was only the chance discovery of a door in the ruins that led to the restoration of this once great estate. Today, the Lost Gardens have been put back where they belong: in pride of place among the finest gardens in Cornwall.

Our visit includes a 30 minute introductory guided tour to introduce you to the wonders of Heligan, with time afterwards to make your own discoveries.

Depart from Chickerell 07:30 - Portland 0800 - Weymouth 08:30 - Dorchester 0900
Stop at Exeter Services for coffee
Arrive Heligan 13:15 - Time for lunch in the cafe, or bring a picnic.
Introductory guided tour at 14:00 for approx 30 mins . Then over 2 hours to explore and make your own discoveries.
Leave at 17:00
Stop at Exeter Services for tea. Home to Weymouth by 21:30
