LUXURY IN LINCOLNSHIRE

4 Day Break

Sunday 26th to Wednesday 29th October

Slow Down!  Relax!  This luxury break is designed to allow you the time to unwind and make full use of the extensive leisure facilities in our award winning hotel, or to simply chill-out and enjoy a chat over a drink.  Our customers will take their choice from the entire table d’hotel restaurant menu (no restricted group menus here!) and can dine individually or in small groups at whatever time you choose.   As a special touch a basket of fruit and bottle of wine will be provided in each bedroom.

Lincolnshire offers a wealth of historical interest and some of the most beautiful scenery and undiscovered parts of the country.  Our excursions have been deliberately curtailed in duration to give you more of that all important leisure time.

THE OLDE BARN HOTEL, Marston near Grantham

The 3 star superior Olde Barn Hotel has a tranquil rural location and recently undergone extensive refurbishment which has resulted in all the bedrooms being furnished and equipped to 4 star standard.  All are comfortable and spacious and offer en-suite bathroom, telephone, television, hairdryer, tea tray and individual heating controls – room service is available.  The historic barn restaurant offers a rustic charm with its original wooden beams and it takes a pride in the exceptionally high quality of food using the finest local ingredients.  After over indulging here you may want to take advantage of the extensive leisure facilities which includes a 15 metre heated pool, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi spa and beauty treatments – all available late into the evening to invigorate, revitalise, unwind and pamper you….enjoy!

ITINERARY

SUNDAY – Morning departure from Dorset and across country to Oxford with time for lunch.  Continue to Marston that afternoon with time to settle in, maybe take a dip in the pool or enjoy a stroll before dinner.

MONDAY – After a leisurely breakfast, travel to the market town of Stamford – captured in time by its conservation status and retaining much of its old world charm and prosperity.  This afternoon we shall be visiting the spectacular Belvoir Castle, although usually closed at this time of year they have agreed to open specially for us!  The ancestral home of the Duke of Rutland for a thousand years, it contains outstanding collections of furniture, porcelain, tapestry and sculpture, not to mention outstanding landscaped gardens.

TUESDAY – A leisurely excursion through Sherwood Forest -  we visit the Sherwood Forest Country Park with time to walk to the Major Oak (½ mile), estimated to be over 800 years old!  The afternoon is spent in Lincoln, with its magnificent cathedral, antique shops and quaint cobbled streets.
