Big Musical, Big Comedy, Big Hair … Hairspray is Broadways latest hit musical heading to London. The show is a phenomenon in the USA and has scooped eight Tony Awards and is still playing to packed houses!   This mother of all musicals follows Tracy Turnblad, a big girl with big hair and even bigger heart, as she sets out to dance her way onto TV’s most popular dance show.  Can this ordinary girl realise her extraoedinary dreams, inspire her mum and still have time to win the boy she loves?  Hairspray is so much fun and colourful – from the very first number it spills off the stage and into the audience with great sing-a-long classics, dancing and laughter.

ITINERARY

Saturday – Morning departure from Dorset to Henley, a delightful town on the River Thames with time for a little sightseeing, shopping and lunch.   Later this afternoon drive on to our hotel and freshen up.  This evening transfer to the Shaftesbury Theatre and enjoy a trip back to the 60’s with a performance of “Hairspray” – let your hair down and dance the night away!  Return to hotel late that night.

Sunday – After a leisurely breakfast drive to Cliveden in Buckinghamshire. A magnificent formal garden overlooking the Thames, once the haunt of the rich and famous.  Spectacular views, enchanting walks and stunning plantings - the house is now a private hotel although some rooms can be visited – it was home to the “fabulous Astors” and infamously associated with the “Profumo Affair”.  Leave that afternoon to return to Dorset by early evening.

Crowne Plaza Hotel, West Drayton
