ITINERARY

Monday - Morning departure from Dorset via motorways to Harrogate, with a welcome tea/coffee on arrival while the bags are portered. Settle in prior to dinner with choice of menu.

Tuesday - Spend the day in the flourishing city of York. Rich in ancient history, it has exquisite architecture, medieval cobbled streets and impressive attractions. Do not miss the famous York's Chocolate Story - an entertaining tour through the chocolate making families and their finest creations. Our recommendation for lunch is the York Roast Co - offering a giant Yorkshire Pudding wrapped around a full roast dinner - it is a recent social media sensation!

Wednesday - Enjoy an hours cruise along the canal from Skipton. A light-hearted commentary is full of jokes and laughter The afternoon is at leisure in Harrogate. Betty's Tea Room is an institution and serves afternoon tea on fine bone china - a luxurious experience you will need to pre-book.

Thursday - A scenic tour through the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Roads meanders between drystone walls and a patchwork of hay meadows overlooked by heather clad moorlands. Visit Grassington with archetypical stone buildings, quirky shops and friendly locals. Continue to The Wensleydale Creamery in Hawes where we see a 40 minute cheese-making demonstration to learn how the famous Wensleydale cheese is made. This afternoon we call into the Black Sheep Brewery in Ripon for a 1 hour guided tour of a traditional brewhouse and try some of the finished product.

Friday - Homewards bound with stops for refreshment as appropriate, to arrive back in Dorset that evening.
