A Very Special Excursion Opportunity
60163 TORNADO

Returns to
The West Somerset Railway
A1 Pacific Steam Locomotive 60163 "Tornado" is the most modern mainline steam train in Britain. Built from scratch to the original plans, she first steamed in 2008 and has become one of the most popular and best known steam engines in the country. It has headed the Royal Train, worked mainline excursions, and even rescued commuters from the snow & ice during the past winter. The locomotive will be heading trains on the West Somerset Railway for a limited period, and we have been fortunate to obtain a group allocation of "Rover Tickets" for the railway. These tickets will be valid for all train departures on the West Somerset Railway for the whole day – two round trips will be operated by "Tornado" and many others by their resident locomotives.
