The four days of the Royal Ascot meeting provide one of the most unique and colourful occasions on the sporting calendar. Queen Anne founded Ascot races in 1711 and members of the Royal family still lead the procession each day. The Gold Cup meeting, or "Ladies Day" as it is famously known, is a great day when focus switches from racing to fashion. In particular ladies - their outfits and their hats – which can range from catwalk chic to interesting and obscure! A superb sporting and social occasion that combines tradition and pageantry with unrivalled horseracing action in a magnificent setting. Many people choose to bring a picnic which can be enjoyed in the coach park before entering the race course. |
|
This excursion includes "Executive" coach travel to Ascot (on-board toilet, drinks, air-conditioning) with a complimentary glass of Bucks Fizz. Admission to the Silver Ring is included, which provides a great relaxed and informal environment with a good range of facilities. Free seating is available – or stand by the rails and cheer on your horse as they sweep around the final bend. A giant screen brings you all the racing action. In addition there are numerous food outlets, several bars and the World’s largest mobile pub! The day is yours to take in the delights of Royal Ascot – whether that might be trying your luck with the bookies, checking out the fine fashion, or simply relaxing with a bottle of bubbly. This is your chance to experience a unique day! |
